You know it's getting real when you have an ISBN

A random dude I emailed at work today wrote back with a "By the way, are you the same [Swiss Miss] who writes short stories in Canada?" Indeed I am, oh-so-literate colleague! I have now threatened to sign him up to my publicity list. Fresh English eyeballs = increased international book sales. Woot woot.

And don't you worry, Bloggership -- it's very likely that all of you are already on that publicity list. And even if you're not, I'm sure Ragin' Ray will forward any email about 1,000,000 times, so you are probably covered.

Now, to business. It has been far too long since we've had a Quibblo survey here at Swiss Mister and Miss, and I need to poll the populace: which author photo makes you want to buy wheelbarrows full of books?

This photo shoot took place on a rather gloomy Sunday afternoon, on our breakfast terrace off our balcony, in front of a chimney. I was the location scout, but Swiss Mister made the magic happen behind the lens.

Thanks, Honey!

  2. Photo 2 is THE ONLY ONE!! Guys. Just the right amount of seriousness. 3 looks like you're suppressing something gastric.

    Trust me on this.

  5. From AB: Also with Ragin' Ray (surprisingly). The expression in 3 and 4 does look like you might toot (or have just tooted and are laughing about it.)

    Seriously.

1 or 2 is THE ONLY WAY!!!

  6. Leave it to family to go for the gastrointestinal. (Sigh)

I've been really interested by the remarkably varied reaction, both in the blogosphere and on the proverbial street. Although there is no clear winner, I am also partial to #2.

And remember that one author photo is not really enough -- you need a little variety, depending on what the photo is for... And, also, my publisher gets final say, though I get to put in my two cents (or at least penny).
