Reader of the Week: Dr. Kathleen!

This post is dedicated to Dr. Kathleen -- not only is she a faithful blog reader, she is Swiss Miss' best friend, maid of honour, and purveyor of transatlantic medical advice. She sends cute cards to cheer me up (and they do!), and outfits me with mittens-on-strings in preparation for the Zurichian winter. She also accompanies me on mad back-to-Canada shopping sprees (fishing broken contact lenses out of my eye, as necessary), and is game for water-less cottage weekends. Kathleen -- we really miss you over here!!!

Today is a big day for Dr. Kathleen. As I type, she is preparing (to ace!) part 2 of her "Licensure of the Medical Council of Canada" test: an 8-hour, station-based practical exam. I know she'll do great, but I'm thinking she might need a wee larf to start her day. So, here is a rather amusing (and sunburnt? and compromising???) picture of us from way back when, in an Australian bar in Siena, Italy. Note: we look naked, but aren't -- this isn't THAT kind of blog!!! Not yet, anyway.

Not that Kathleen doesn't like a good party -- give this girl a noise-maker and a balloon animal, and she and her hubby Rob are out of control!
But, being the responsible professional she is, Kathleen is quick-thinking in a party emergency. The picture below is of Swiss Miss...on her 25th birthday...lighting her hair on fire!!! What you don't see is Kathleen springing into action 0.001 seconds later and saving me from 3rd-degree burns/months of hat-wearing. Thanks, Kath!
Dr. Kathleen, Swiss Mister and Miss salute you!!!

  1. This is heartwarming...I feel super important having a blog dedicated to me!!
The exam went well...I think...but most importantly it is over. Will let you know the result when I find out (sometime in December).

Thanks again Swiss Mr & Miss - miss you!

  2. Hooray! If you think it "went well," then I'm sure it was off-the-(medical)charts amazing!

    Congratulations!
