Clearly the lack of blogging has not been because there hasn't been anything to say, but rather that there has been TOO much to say, and not enough time to cogently and coherently explain it (let alone process it ourselves). We like to preserve at least a semblance of togetherness here at Swiss (Mister and) Miss, and for the last few weeks we've been little party and travel animals, rocking out across the western (and not so) world, and generally trying to organize all aspects of our new life as Londoners. But before we can move forward in our tale, we should go back a little to that wonderfully rainy day in June...
We are still waiting for some "official" photographs of our wedding, but here are a few snaps of the day before the big day, June 12, and of course, the aftermath of the next-day Hobo Hoedown.
Our dance teacher, Ilona: "Bride is very beautiful. Bride is very graceful. We need to work with what we have and [looking at Swiss Mister] we do not have much. We are only going to be doing what is going to be possible."
OBSERVE, Bloggership, Swiss Mister and Miss doing the impossible -- excellent dance moves! And the rehearsal itself... Mr. C. down in front, clearly comfortable in the limelight. Our best folks are looking pretty sharp, no?

Jon, Michelle, and Ruby arrive at the rehearsal dinner...from London! Thanks, guys, for making the trip! We are glad the UK granted your return visa, Michelle...3 HOURS BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT! As you know, I have some issues with WorldBridge and the UK Consulate General, and now Michelle and I are going to make a club.

Deeeeeelicious dinner! Such a nice way to kick off the wedding...which, at the time of the following photo was less than 24 hours away!!! As was the rain... Who knew that a photography permit at Union Station would be the best $200 we spent on this wedding???

June 12...

And then before you knew it, it was time to party...Canadian-style! Here we are showing the international contingent what it means to party down in an old roundhouse-turned-brewery, eh. Thanks to Aoife, Wei-Jsu, Max, Mathieu, Steffen, Alesha, Alessandra, and Daniel for making the journey!

What follows gets a little blurry, both literally and figuratively, but perhaps that's a fitting segue to this image from the next day's Hobo Hoedown. If you look closely, you'll see little Henny, our favourite NYC baby!

While Swiss Miss isn't changing her (real) name, the cake poses some serious questions for this here blog...

Our wedding was such an amazing weekend, and we are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends! While I may still have a hankering for all things weddin', it's time to leave Toronto for Istanbul...
Up next: a few snaps of our honeymoon in Turkey! Then we will (might) return to our regularly scheduled Swiss programming...

You guys looked great on your wedding day! Wish we were there! And a new blog for London? Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sina! We definitely missed you guys!
ReplyDeleteAs for the blog change, I'm alarmingly attached to the Swiss Miss persona... Is this the kind of existential crisis that Puff Daddy/P. Diddy went through?
It all seems like a dream. Faye and I are glad to hear that London is gelling. It was nice to see you there before our assault on the U.K
