Fred Astaire and Mary Poppins are back from their British wedding adventure at Ripley Castle!
However, the question remains: is it a fascinator, or is it a hat???
The hat-like qualities of the headpiece are certainly apparent (large brim, overall size), but the fascinator elements (held to head via hairband, jaunty angle) certainly complicate the issue.

I saw many REAL hats at this wedding. Swiss Miss was clearly wearing a fascinator!
ReplyDelete... or was she???
Maybe it's more of a faux chapeau?
ReplyDeleteLaura, you look great in that chapeau. It is definateley a British thing. Loverlet. Ian you look too especially when you stand beside Laura. Ha Ha.
ReplyDeleteLOve to you both. DadXXOO
I meant you look good too. Dad
ReplyDeleteLast day of move and finding things I had totally forgotten I had. . Such as a electronic microphone. QUIET ON THE FUCKING SET!! Etc. Love Dad
It's definitely a hat, though no ordinary (or, "ordnr'y", as they say in England) hat. The wide brim is what makes it a hat to me. You guys look great! Who got married?
ReplyDeleteLaura, Due to the fact that your "fascinator" comes complete with a "hat-like brim" I'm going out on a limb and calling it a "Hatinator" or maybe a "Fat". This is how trends are created! lol
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your blog!

Kate -- you have now tipped the balance! 64% hat equals definitive hat!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am quite partial to "hatinator," myself.
I don't care what it is - Laura, you need to wear that thing all the time, it's too awesome to be saved for special occasions. I also think that Ian should get one of his own. Then people will know you're 'together'.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a hat... a very, very awesome hat. As Michelle said, you should wear it all the time. Like out and about grocery shopping and stuff. You both look lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty awesome, isn't it? I just wouldn't want Swiss Mister to detract from my wow-factor...
