Excuse the poor picture quality -- this was just before Swiss Mister put this stuff in his bag in preparation for a super-early morning flight: wake-up call at 4:50am!
THE ANONYMOUS COMPANY has a policy that all business trippers must take this package with them on assignment, though they (business trippers) must also sign a waiver affirming that if they do become ill, they will seek medical attention, and only a doctor will administer the Tamiflu meds -- no self-dosing!
I find it interesting that Swiss Mister's business trip is 1 (one) day long, but the incubation period for Swine Flu is several days. He would have to have caught Swine Flu here in Zurich to make the travel pack of any use.
I suppose, though, that if Swiss Mister were to get stranded in a Swine Flu zone (air travel shut down, or some such), it would definitely be useful to have his own Tamiflu....
On that note, THE ANONYMOUS COMPANY has purchased enough Tamiflu for all of its employees AND their families! Hooray for being ready for the pandemic!

I hope the families include parents!
ReplyDeleteWow....
ReplyDeleteas a physician I can honestly say that THE ANONYMOUS COMPANY has wasted a ton of money on this. Firstly, a dose of tamiflu is not going to do much good if you've had the virus for more than a day or so. Secondly, if you're sick enough to need it you should probably be in the hospital.
As you can tell I am fed up with swine flu already...unfortunately everyone I see in the office is convinced they have it. Can't wait to see what next month's pandemic will be!
Update: Swiss Mister has returned his (medically kind of useless) Tamiflu. We have kept the crazy mask, surgical gloves, and hand sanitizers.
