Blog the Hundredth!

Welcome, Dutiful Readers, to the 100th installment of our humble blog! We've come a long way since this whole Swiss business started. It's been trying, amazing, confusing, and amusing, and we have now managed to survive almost a full six months in and around our new home (NOTE: said home is not the shed pictured above, despite its name). Thanks for keeping tabs on us -- we miss you guys, and we really couldn't do it all without knowing that you were cheering us on from afar.

Enough of this shmoopiness! We know you tune in for excitement, and we here are Swiss Mister and Miss have some news that fits the bill: Swiss Miss' book is going to be published!!! There will be more details to share at a later date, but for now I can say that the same people who brought you THIS lovely book are also going to be bringing you my work! From my publisher:

Your writing is vivid and precise and often very funny -- and I enjoyed the intellect that plays through every story... With your kind of mind, THE NOT-SO ANONYMOUS PUBLISHER is a natural home for you. You'll be in good company and free from corporate nonsense.

What say?
I say yes, yes, yes! And (Toot toot!) is that the sound of my own horn? Why, yes it is, and don't it sound grand!

In honour of all this momentousness, we would like to present a celebration of the shop windows of Zurich by night. iPhone has done its best to capture all the weirdness, and we hope you enjoy it.

-----

Needs antlers? Or perhaps a fur-covered lamp shade? This store satisfies all your head-on-plaque-related needs.
Please note that this "pop-up" store is only open from September 1 - December 24 -- don't miss out!

Perhaps you're interested in something a little more delicate? Something romantic, with baby angels, feathers, and a naked orange mannequin wearing a masquerade-style mask? It's Anne Geddes meets Eyes Wide Shut in Miss Havisham's house.

Ahoy, mateys! Switzerland may be a landlocked country, but that is no reason not to buy this giant model schooner! And/or the tables and benches around it.

I'm not sure why this business model hasn't caught on in Toronto: pet store = garden store = gnome store. It's obvious! Swiss Mister's now much-dwindled gnome collection can be rebuilt!

We're looking for something that says "glamour and style." I know, a giant cobra! Ssssexy!

Oh, Switzerland, we salute you.
