Get yo'Selve some boots

It's a question Swiss Miss has been trying to answer her whole life: how can a person have such dainty little feet and such mega-muscular calves? Cows, even!

While these pins have done a good job of powering me through life, they have made it downright hellish to buy tall boots.

Enter the answer to all things at-the-knee: Selve. Selve is the "luxury shoe individualizer," as seen in Vogue's "The Secret Address Book," that made its way to the UK from Germany in 2004. They measure/scan/photograph your tootsies twenty ways from Sunday and then make you the most gorgeous boots (or shoes) of all time in all sorts of colours and styles.

You can only book a fitting at one of their quarterly trunk shoes, and guess who is off to the races a week Friday? (And guess where, RR and Faye? I wouldn't have thought they'd have had the time to recover from your last visit.) I am considering both Venus and Beryll (below).

The measuring takes an hour and that's free...but the boots are anything but. It's like they're asking you to give them a leg, in addition to an arm, in exchange for these beauties. At least there's no pressure to buy at the fitting...unless you count the pressure of the fact that these are custom boot people who will solve all your boot problems, and they are there trying to get you into a pair of perfect boots!!!

Stay tuned, Bloggership.

  1. Wooohoooo! New boots away! So excited for you Swiss Miss! I love both options, and really love the red number, but am questioning the practicality in your lovely London weather... perhaps the full leather option is better?

Keep us posted! Can't wait to see them in action :)

  2. Think I agree with you re: the suede. Never hurts to try, though... Or does it?
