That was the question facing our merry band of Eurofriends as we tried to arrange a weekend together in Austria's cultural capital. It is almost impossible to get tickets, as there are many season and corporate ticket holders, and, well, the Viennese are mad about Mozart and Co.
Annette and Stefan, our Viennese hosts, came up with an ingenious solution: Annette, posing as the secretary of Stefan's old-but-still-incorporated independent consultancy firm, spent a good hour on the phone, finally getting through to the person who could get her a dozen tickets "for the Swiss delegation of the company." Thus, Swiss Mister and Miss, in their official Swiss capacities, found themselves representing Zurich at the State Opera.

We did try to be good ambassadors, though Swiss Mister may have had the briefest of cat-naps during the first act of Le Nozze de Figaro.
Dinner afterwards (and "dinner" is an understatement!) was at the Grand Hotel Wien. Very grand, indeed.

Thanks, Stefan and Annette, for organizing such a wonderful weekend. Never have I had so much fun representing Switzerland.
