Whiskyschiff!
Swiss Mister's birthday saw him receiving many birthday gifts, including a special Swiss Miss-cooked meal, and this much coveted item, the likes of which does not exist in all of Europe (or so Swiss Miss' fruitless efforts have led her to believe). Friday night, though, the real party began aboard the Whiskyschiff!
It's like the City of Zurich knew it was time to celebrate a certain whisky-drinker, and therefore arranged for there to be three boats FULL of whisky, moored a mere five minutes' walk from the Swiss Mister 'n' Miss HQ. We put to use everything we have learned from our friend Dr. Whisky, and our tasting glasses and tasting chips (20 per person) got quite the work out.
All of this was a much better present than my original idea:
Not exactly the season's most festive gift...

I love my cast iron skillet! It's the best. Don't clean it with soap! If it's really grungy, try scrubbing it with a sponge and coarse salt or baking soda, or de-glaze it. There really is no better thing on which to make grilled cheese.
ReplyDeleteThat whisky boat thing looks fantastic! Maybe we can re-create it in the apartment when you're here?
I think the cleaning issue is part of why it was so hard to find -- people want enamel-coated stuff, even though it can crack, stain, and is way more expensive.
ReplyDeleteTaking the "Schiff" out of "Whiskyschiff" would certainly make it a more stable experience... Whiskyzimmer sounds good to me!
