To...Montana?

Yes, Crans Montana, that is, in the Valais region of Switzerland. We spent the weekend there for Alesha's 30th birthday party...which might have been mistaken for some sort of world summit, had Davos not already cornered the market on that kind of thing. Yes, we were an international bunch: 1 American (birthday girl), 1 Russian, 3 Canadians (one of whom was born in Iran), 2 French (one of whom grew up on Reunion Island), 1 Italian, and 2 Brazilians.

Naturally, we forgot the camera, but that's usually okay for ski holidays: Swiss Miss is busy trying not to cry (add two more days to the Tear Free Slopes count!) and Swiss Mister is busy skiing. Still, trusty iPhone can catch a thing or two.

The view from the chalet.

Apres-ski fashion?
The boots, the backpack...the hair? I was shocked and impressed!

Swiss Mister's investment in my skibilities has been worth it: I successfully took my first black run! I'm also having more fun (and less doomfulness) with every trip. A good thing, as we are skimaniacs: Swiss Mister has been skiing every weekend since we got back to Switzerland, and Swiss Miss has only taken one weekend off!

  2. I am much speedier now! It's something I've been working on here, so as not to get left in the proverbial (snow)dust all the time.

I'm also working on actually using my poles for more than just dragging myself across flats!
