A: We're moving there...on Tuesday! We've been hinting around at our intentions for the last little while, but now we finally have a few things to report: Swiss Miss has a job in the publishing department of a national charity, and Swiss Mister is 99.9% sure that he will decide to sign on the dotted line in order to get transferred with THE ANONYMOUS COMPANY.
Q: That's great, but what was wrong with Switzerland?
A: Mostly, the work opportunities for Swiss Miss really, really sucked. But there was other stuff that got us down, too... London will give us the opportunity to 1) live together, 2) be in a city we both love, and 3) both have jobs! That combination hasn't occurred in all our years of togetherness, and after a year and a half in Zurich we are pretty darn sure it's not going to occur here! On a related note, all our close Zuri-friends are moving -- Max and Alesha to Geneva, Sarah and Tomek to Florence, and D_ and M_ (whose move is still embryonic, and kind of top secret) to ??? -- and our Zug friends are also looking at greener, non-Swiss pastures. We are isolated enough here without being totally bereft of friends!
Q: Where will you live in Jolly Old England?
A: We'll be in a serviced apartment for the first month. Having learned our lesson with temporary accommodation the first time around, we've picked our own place (though THE ANONYMOUS COMPANY will be footing the bill). It's near Paddington Station, which will help facilitate all of Swiss Mister's back and forthing to Zurich. Here are some pictures of the new pad:

From there, we'll be hunting for a flat in the west end (Hammersmith, Shepherd's Bush, Acton?), and then, maybe, buying a house!Q: What about your apartment in Zurich?
A: Swiss Mister will still be making use of it in September, and we will officially move out at the end of that month. All our stuff will get packed and shipped (thanks, ANONYMOUS COMPANY!) to our new residence, wherever that might be. We are also hoping that our new friends Ronny and Paula, the newest Swissies on the block, will take over life here in the heart of Zurich. R+P: are you reading??? We will email you...
Q: What about Banana?
A: Mr. B. is currently enjoying the hospitality of Swiss Miss's Auntie Ferne (pictured above). He has learned to play nicely with Miss June, the cat matriarch, and his cat-cousins Octavia and Cleo (pictured below). He is, essentially, at an all-inclusive cat resort! The plan is to get him up to speed with UK pet regulations -- a six month process that we started back in June! -- then bring him to London with us after Christmas.Q: When are you coming back home? To Canada, home?
A: Probably Christmas. Unless, of course, Swiss Miss wins the Journey Prize and has to return to claim her winnings.
Q: What's your contact information for London?
A: Email and we'll tell you!
Q: Are you guys happy?
A: Oh, yes. Happy and a little stressed, but this is going to be a great move for us as a couple -- it's great to be starting married life off with a new, mutually agreeable adventure! Of course, we'd be even happier if people started to come visit! Otherwise, we'll have to start poaching even more Canadian friends... Mwahahaha.
Q: Are you guys keeping the blog?
A: Yes! (As long as you keep reading...) And we're not even changing the name! Just consider it the next season of a mildly entertaining sitcom: Swiss Mister and Miss -- in London!

You will, of course, need to change your names and the blog URL.
