Of bears and puppets

Swissery alert in London! Though the Brits got rid of the aging Swiss Centre (which housed a Swiss bank and the Swiss National Tourist Board) in 1997, Leicester Square couldn't quite shake the Swissinfluence entirely: behold, Swiss Court's tower, erected in 1991, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Swiss confederation.
Swiss Miss shakes her fist at all 26 cantons. It appears she's sick of the Swiss:

On our way home via Paddington, we checked in with our favourite immigrant bear from Darkest Peru. No marmalade sandwiches were seen, but we suspect they are in P's suitcase, which bears the message "WANTED ON VOYAGE."

Tonight we are taking in Avenue Q. We haven't gone to the theatre in YEARS, and it's going to be great... I'm not sure Swiss Mister is 100% prepared, having somehow never heard of the show before, but the advertising has assured him that it is "pant-wettingly funny," and he is now aware the production contains puppet pornography. Stay tuned for reviews!
(Editor's note: Any pant-wetting, accidental or otherwise, will not be reviewed.)

  1. I love the video! Just linked to your blog from One Big Yodel. I'm sorry that my husband and I missed out on your apartment here in Zurich -- somehow I didn't see your post when I had my question answered on the Dear Frau column. It's all well and good though. Probably out of our price range and we arrive at work at 7:45 so the commute would have been an early one! The clock is to blame for that! Anyway, best of luck in London. Sounds ideal!

  2. Yaaa! Avenue Q is one of our fave musicals...in fact, we have the soundtrack!
    It's pretty amazing.

Can't wait to see you in November!

  3. Hi, Lindsey. Welcome to Swiss (Mister and) Miss. Glad to hear you are settled in Zurich. We had a night on the town last night with the Londonders who are taking on our apartment in CH -- if only we could take their apartment in Tooting Broadway, then the switch would be complete!

Kathleen, we will hunt up a show for us to see when you are here. The more puppet profanity, the better. :)
