Out with a bang

Good morning, Bloggership, and welcome to Swiss Miss' last full day in Zurich! Wowza! I can't believe that we'll be moving to London...tomorrow! Although we're very happy about the upcoming adventure, this weekend was a reminder of all the good things and good friends we'll be leaving behind here in Switzerland.

Swiss Mister took off on Saturday for Mathieu's surprise stag party -- a rafting adventure in Interlaken! It was a No Girls Allowed type of event, but I did manage to acquire a few pictures...

Here's the gang, obviously dressed to party.
Can you spot Swiss Mister, back left?

Rafts! The water is from the glacier, so full wetsuits required!

Swiss Mister in front right, holding on for dear life.

Everybody had an excellent time, and the guide
even let
Swiss Mister man the stern for the last half hour.

Funny, after this the picture trail sort of disappears. Swiss Mister didn't return home until after 3am... I'll let you fill in the blanks.

There was no rest for the wicked on Sunday, as we were helping Max and Alesha move out of their apartment. The job was advertised as "just a bit of help with a few big pieces" (a sofa, a bar, and a bed), but as tends to happen -- especially when Alesha's involved! ha! -- there turned out to be a LOT of stuff. We hauled everything down four flights of stairs and then packed the oven, er, make that van to the gills! Even the bicycles fit! Alesha was right: the power of positive thinking is essential to the packing process (though Max won the argument about a certain purple chair, which has now been consigned to the scrapheap). Happy moving, guys! Can't wait to visit you in Geneva!

Tonight we'll be dining downstairs at Zum Weissen Kreuz (highly recommended!) to say goodbye to the restaurant crew who has been so kind to us over the last year. We know the new tenants Paula and Ronny (hooray, it's confirmed!) will really appreciate Roberto and Stefan's hospitality.
And then...London, baby, yeah.

  1. On my way very soon! Although it's a weird feeling to leave the apartment intact... It just feels like I've overpacked for a vacation.

  4. Ha! Mr. Anonymous is quite a sweat ball in that pic, and if I recall he was doing the "light" labor of dis-assembly upstairs! Swiss Mr's skills in spacial maneuvering was key to the success of this perfectly stuffed load :) Thanks Again ILO!
