Today was moving day! Three burly dudes (one whom was basically the English mover-man equivalent of Raging Ray) arrived at our house at 9am, and then the mayhem began. Everything is unpacked now, and tomorrow we're aiming to put the kitchen away, organize the living room, and, unfortunately, argue with our landlord about the shabby condition of the carpet in the master bedroom. Sigh. Jane, our relocation agent, is on the case. I did have to moderate my "no carpet" policy in order to find a place to live in this land of furred flooring, but I'm hoping that the vague whiff of damp will start to smell like home in no time!
Now, the tour...
Off the kitchen, the steps to our private garden. Yes, we're on the second and third floor, yet we have the first floor garden all to our ourselves! Note the lovely Japanese maple, just starting to turn.

The movers' mandate is to unpack everything to flat surfaces. We actually had to assemble the dining room table in order to provide enough surface. Yowza!

The living room. We're going for that Dr. Seuss look.

At the end of the day, enjoying a beer on the sunny terrace off the master bedroom, it's the man of the hour, the Mister who courageously managed the packing of everything in Switzerland. No easy task. Beer well deserved!

Stay tuned for more pictures of the new homestead...once you can see it out from under all those boxes!

Wow!! The place looks great, boxes and all.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are both thrilled to once again be settled...
Can't wait to be your (?) first visitor!
XOXOXO
That sounds like a dare, bloggership. Race to the guestroom?
ReplyDeleteAnd then perhaps you and/or Ian can race to MY new guestroom...which can be yours any time after October 8th! Yay house (but boo moving)!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend Tom Trucker for moving in Toronto -- really reliable dudes, great prices. We used them three times, and everything was great!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the big move...and yes, we are totally going to take you up on the offer to stay at your place. Can't wait!
I'm hoping to race Banana to the guestroom!
ReplyDeleteYes! Please do! Progress has been made in that room -- you can almost walk around in it. :)
