Mind the gap

From BBC: scene outside Liverpool Street station this morning

There's a tube strike here in London, though the commute this morning was relatively uneventful, save for the mob of people near Paddington waiting for bus service. Luckily, all those Zuri-pushing and -shoving lessons paid off, and the commuter formerly known as Swiss Miss got onto a bus (even getting a seat...eventually) and arrived at work at the stroke of 9. Swiss Mister was likewise a-OK, though there was an end of day walk from Marylebone to Paddington that was less than welcome after a long day...

I'm interested in this eye-poking utensilness that BoJo is talking about here... Can we use that power against other commuters tomorrow?

  1. "The great thundering herd"takes on it's true meaning when transport is struck. Put a couple Steel Pots on your heads and "have at em'!(Switzian Style.

And where are those damn bicycles when you really need them?

  2. We haven't tried the "Boris bikes" (Barclays cycle hire) yet, mostly because you need a UK credit card to register, but we hope to be up and running soon... If we can get a handle on the left side of the road business, that is! I was crossing the street and totally looked the wrong way, and got blasted with the angry of "Silly cow -- look before you cross!" Ah, London. You know how to charm a lady.
