From BBC: scene outside Liverpool Street station this morningThere's a tube strike here in London, though the commute this morning was relatively uneventful, save for the mob of people near Paddington waiting for bus service. Luckily, all those Zuri-pushing and -shoving lessons paid off, and the commuter formerly known as Swiss Miss got onto a bus (even getting a seat...eventually) and arrived at work at the stroke of 9. Swiss Mister was likewise a-OK, though there was an end of day walk from Marylebone to Paddington that was less than welcome after a long day...

We haven't tried the "Boris bikes" (Barclays cycle hire) yet, mostly because you need a UK credit card to register, but we hope to be up and running soon... If we can get a handle on the left side of the road business, that is! I was crossing the street and totally looked the wrong way, and got blasted with the angry of "Silly cow -- look before you cross!" Ah, London. You know how to charm a lady.
