Sky Lounge: Gone

It is all but written in Swiss stone: the Sky Lounge apartment has been offered to someone else! He has one week to sign the contract, and after that we (may) have another crack at it, but by that time we will have inked the deal on Rossligasse 3.

I know the Sky Lounge generated a lot of discussion, the likes of which is unprecedented for the Swiss (Mister and) Miss blog, so I figured you would be interested in the survey results:

Question 1: Should we bribe Mr. Sky Lounge? (click graph to embiggen)
Question 2: If yes, how much? (click graph to embiggen)
You are a remarkably unscrupulous bunch!

Rossligasse 3, while Lounge-less, will prove a delightful roost. We were getting a little bit antsy, as the contract for Rossli has yet to materialize, but Nele has told us not to worry: they sent the contract by mail last week, and things are a little slow because of the holiday; if she doesn't have it in hand by tomorrow, she will insist on having it faxed/emailed.

This is all very good news, as the bloom is off the rose at our temporary accommodation: we finally found the source of the weird smell in our flat, and we have identified a cat urine stain in the depths of our couch. :( There was some cleaning today, and some apologetic champagne, as well as a small gift of Febreeze, but still... I have put it in the official relocation record in advance of Banana's (potential) arrival here, as we wouldn't want him accused of such a dastardly deed (or of the scratch marks on the chairs -- what kind of devil-cat lived here previously???).

  1. I think you should break those stats down by the age and place of residence of those surveyed.

  2. I say this is a success. Don't think of it as "Sky Lounge" gone, think of it as "we have found and (almost) secured a great apartment to make a new home in Zurich!" And this home doesn't come with $15,000 patio furniture, so what.

  3. It really IS a success! Sky Lounge was, realistically, a wee bit unaffordable. With the money we're saving on rent and bribes, we're practically turning a profit. (That's what I like to call Swiss Missenomics in action.)

Plus, we can get rid of the "almost" on the other apartment -- we just received the contract for Rossligasse 3. All we have to do is go over it with our relocation agent for translation purposes, sign it, and then we're good to go.

  4. Brenda -- any further breakdown of results might reveal the fact that only nine (9) people responded to our survey. Or, rather, that there were 9 clicks and some people might have voted more than once.

We'd like to preserve at least a veneer of scientific legitimacy with our Quibblo-generated survey.

  5. I tried to vote more than once but Quibblo wouldn't let me.

  6. Quibblo is the one with scruples here? Very surprising!
